Crusade Against Political Violence As NGO Organises Edo youths for peaceful election

A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Coalition for Change and Development Foundation, is organizing a one-day sensitization program aimed at engaging youths for peaceful participation at the polling station ahead of the September 10 governorship election in Edo State. The sensitization program which is scheduled for Wednesday, August 31, 2016, at the Civic Centre, Benin City. A statement on Friday by the Executive Director, CCDF, tagged, “Edo youths for peaceful election: Crusade against political violence.”

The sensitization program will commence with a keynote address from the representative of Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife. Other dignitaries expected at the event include the Edo State Police Commissioner, Director of the Department of State Services in the state, and the state Resident Electoral Commissioner. The sensitization program is aimed at facilitating peaceful political engagement and non-violent poll, in which representatives of youth groups across the state are expected to participate in the program.
