WOULD IT HAVE MATTERED THAT MUCH

WOULD IT HAVE MATTERED THAT MUCH

Would it have mattered that much what Governor Mimiko had said at Akure Airport regarding paying workers salary on Monday if his candidate Eyitayo Jegede is voted in as Governor? Now I don’t subscribe to partisan politics however if truly His Excellency did say that then truly leadership in Nigeria has gone to the dogs.

For a man whose victory at the courts made him Governor, Mimiko has certainly come a long way from the beloved “Gbasibe” to someone who appears desperate to instill a puppet as successor to replace him all in a bid to “escape being questioned” over his term as Governor? Soon the victor will be announced but would it have really mattered if the governor had promised to pay salaries owed over seven months to workers?

These workers earned their salaries so we should understand that the Governor is doing no one any favor by paying what is duly theirs. Infact, its criminal the fact that workers are owed over seven months salaries in the first instance not to mention a promise to pay the salaries dependent on the outcome of an election.

I as a person would actually vote for anybody but Mimiko’s stooge just to spite him for his statement. I really must say once again that leadership has gone to the dogs and I hope that the outcome of the elections will show the people are united against ineptitude, sheer wickedness, flagrant disregard for the rule of law, zero compassion for the plight of the people who really are the government and who choose to saddle so called leaders with the mantle of leadership and not the other way round.

At the end of the day, would it really have mattered if the people decide enough is enough and they demand equity and accountability from their leaders? Would it really have mattered if the governor had paid salaries today but the people unite against stomach infrastructure and mere promises, from these classless humans who think the people owe them but do not realize they owe it all to the people? Time will tell but now is not the time to call on God and posterity to judge, no , now is not the time. Now is the time the people’s voice count.
